weighed my seats tonight and...

i had the leir seats in my 85 ttype with drivers side power.

i couldnt believe how heavy they are

drivers side with power tracks weighed 59#

pass. side with manual tracks weighed 45#


i pulled the seats out of my 87 WE4 car and weighed them to compare

drivers side manual tracks was 38#

pass side manual tracks weighed 37#

only diff. i saw between dr. and pass. was drivers side had an ashtray in the back and pass side didnt.

i weighed the back seat and got 15# for top and 15# for bottom

since the WE4 car will be a project that will take a while i went ahead and put the seats out of it in my 85

all in all my car is now 29# lighter just from swapping seats

going for that 130 mpph trap speed soon.

im also switching from duel exaust to atr's single 3" and upping my d/p from 2 7/8 to 3"

oh well figured id toss them weights around for others to see

them ash trays are getting heavy at 2 lbs.-maybe should remove all the ashtrays for extra weight savings-you can always say you dont smoke.

Aftermarket Seats?

The next question, if you're trying to lighten up, would be about the weights of aftermarket seats, like Recaro, or Scat. Anybody know, right offhand?
