I'm considering going to the small, two piece lighter bumper brackets. I do have the factory aluminum bumper brackets already. How much does the aluminum bracket weigh?

I'm going to assume you have the full-length aluminum reinforcement up front now which weighs about 9 pounds. The "export" brackets you're referring to were used on some Canadian cars. When I had a set I recall they weighed about 2.5 pounds each.

Hope this helps,
Morgan

not much difference at all cant remember exact #'s when I weighed some but was only a couple #'s difference

the bumper shocks are kinda heavy but if you put the alum bumper brckets in place of them with regular bumper they are kinda flimsy

I have them on mine now but if you put any wieght on the bumper they bend

The aluminum bracket and hardware weighs about 12-13 lbs, the '84 "export" brackets and hardware weigh about 6 lbs.

So it saves about 6lbs over AL.

FYI to everyone else, you have to make your own for the back. Cut down brackets are a front only deal.
