SIcne ive heard the Poston 3" dp rattle and come loose while on the car, would it be ok to weld the Dp to the elbow, therefore completely eliminating the need for the bolts? i dotn see a problem with it, just askign for some opinions or better yet personal experience, good or bad....

are you talking about the 2 pieces of the downpipe......welding them together? Or right where it comes out of the turbo?

I have the same downpipe and the place about 6-8" from the turbo (where it slides together) came loose so badly I was getting bad KR from the banging and it started to stink like exhaust in the car......so I had it welded......much better!

If you are talking about right next to the turbo, you should be able to get it fairly tight.....I don't have a problem with mine. But welding those together will obviously make it difficult if you need to switch turbos later.

That would be a great excuse to get a better downpipe as well! Not knocking the poston one mine was given to me and for now it's better than stock......just other priorities than dumping 400+ on a Terry Houston right now.

The pipe is already welded where it meets halfway down, im tlaking about the actual turbo elbow, which would be replaced when i get a THDP.
