SignUp Now!My old road got beat up pretty bad by semi trucks when the built a couple 1,000,000 sq foot warehouses near it. Was in the middle of NO WHERE too.
Id be spraying that strip down with VHT every week.
Isn't the old Conn Dragway just sitting there being used every now an then by a magazine?? What a shame
For the same reason we have no Casino in Southern CT.Maybe if your stupid state would allow a track to built this would not happen.
I can't for the life of me figure one of the richest states in the union with land to boot can't get one built!
bison;2622347 Build a fvcking drag strip in CT and this bull**** would be minimized.[/QUOTE said:I don't think so. In fact, I think it would increase if people could dial their cars in at the track to race them on the street.
Look at NY city and sorrounding areas in NJ. They have TWO race tracks and NJ and Jersey and NY have some of the fastest street raced cars around and has as many street races as anywhere else.
A race track will not solve anything. People street race because it is exciting. A track will not solve that issue. It sounds good in theory, build a race track and street racing will end but that's simply not true.
I was there the last day .. fall of 1982,I was with my 66 chevelle 19 year old.good old days... still miss it to this DAY..
Well if it is close and the have street race oriented events then it will make a difference.... For instance at milan no et you can run anything you want as long as its reasonably safe and dosent leak anything...low 10s no rollbar no problem, they allow armdrop flag and they dont show your et , they even cut the timeslip in half...they let the crowd gather on the track behind the cars only and bet stupid amounts of $$ in the staging lanes...I don't think so. In fact, I think it would increase if people could dial their cars in at the track to race them on the street.

I think for the most part people just have no desire to have a race track near their house. I know I wouldn't! I get aggrivated when my neighbors dogs bark so listening to little ricer engines or open header cars that do nothing more then make more noise then power would make me want to move immediately!its not so much about the $$$$$,the dam DOT controls alot, couple of guys by me tryed to do a track in new milford ct, and noise
Polictics rule everything and rich people put politicians in office.
