In the city it has climbed to $4.59.

What do you mean we've "hit" $4, it's been that way for a while in Chicago already.

In NW Indiana it's $4.03 today. I moved from Chicagoland 3 years ago. Chicago has a 10.25% sales tax added to 11¢ city and county tax. That does not include the federal tax. When gas doubled that past 2 years from 2 to 4 dollars... Chicago's taxes on gas effectively doubled!!! Talk about the "greedy oil companies"... Chicago rips off consumers for probably more that the oil companies make on gas!

This is dead center in Kansas right in the middle of the country. I can only imagine what you East/West Coasters are paying

Here in NJ we're still $3.79 for regular, $3.99 for super. Haven't seen anything with a $4.xx yet.....in town anyway.

Funny, just topped off the wife's car at the local Sunoco. Planning on filling up the Buick tomorrow with 93 Ultra and looked at the prices. $4.30 for their 92 premium and $4.59 for 93! Went in and told the owner who barely spoke English and he just sort of looked at me. Told him how could it be 29 cents more from 92 to 93 octane? The sign said Ultra was $4.39 but the pump read out was $4.59, wonder how many people they ripped off.

He was jabbering on his cell when I left so will see tomorrow if he changed it. Of course, the way things are going that WILL be the price next week.

My Buick is in the garage with no engine in it and my daily driver Cadillac is in the driveway with a sheared water pump pulley (which isn't available from the stealer until Wednesday). Looks like I'm going 'green' this Holiday weekend (and giving my Keds a workout).

Your'e right. Alot of people probably won't even notice when gas goes to $10 a gallon. Then again, that can depend on how close you live to your job. I know people who commute only 2 miles one way to work.

IM just sick and tired of the politicians referencing Europe " well they been paying X-n-X for years" But they dont seem to get the fact that them citys over there were designed and built fricking 900 years ago and everything is centrally located, where as Americans ave commute is what? IM guessing 40 miles one way?

Unless you live in LA where you might work 5 miles down the road and it still takes ya an hr or better to get there

What's kind of funny to see is the sudden increase in value of cars that some people would never have dreamed of buying. These new hybrids still aren't as fuel efficient as some older cars.

I thought these were some interesting articles about Geo Metros.

I had already planned on buying a commuter car when I get back to the states next month, but I really don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for a clown car.
