Hello all,

I have an old Minivan that has had a very faded, dull hood since I bought it. Today I decided to wetsand it (??!!). I used 400,800,1000,1500 and 2000 grit, then waxed it. It shines much better now but shows streaks from sanding. Was I supposed to prepare it before sanding?? Any advice on doing it over again??

Thanks alot for your time,

Ravi

sounds like it needs the finishing touch - a good buff and polish

I will polish and wax and let everyone know.

Last thought.Go easy, watch as the lines leave. Don't want to
take too much paint.I would use the light compound.
Do it by hand. Then wax.Should show great...I got your mail.
Forgot toenter this.....Rob

I used 2000 on my car and it looked awesome, and like you I decided that the little scratches had to go, so I hit it with some medium compound and burned throught the paint:mad: Now I get to repaint my fender. Be careful!
