I have an Ironsides in my Regal. I got it because it has very high cranking amps (1000 ca, and 800 cca I believe) plus I used to work at a Gm garage and the Auto place near by gave us real good deals. I've had that battery for almost 3 years now and it still works good. Still have the original battery in my 2000 Dakota, I'm sure that's due to be replaced one of these days......

Currently a dead AC Delco. I want to go with an Optima Red, do they fit in the stock battery tray without cutting the tray?

Delco in both of mine! I own an autoparts store, and had a customer come in a couple of years ago with a THIRTEEN YEAR OLD Delco! Said it was still starting, but he was getting worried about it. I try to rotate the TRs batteries into my winter beaters to make them work year-round vs. a battery tender.

I take back what I said about my battery. I tried starting my car today ( which has had a battery tender on it since I put it in storage) and it cramked over a few times and died, I got it started by using a charger on it. But it wouoldnt take a charge and is bulged out on the sides, I think some of the cells are frozen. So I'm looking at a new one, probably an Optima, wheres the best place to buy them????

Interstate Megatron. I've used these since the 80's and they usually last 5-10 years if kept charged and the connections clean. I try to buy the dual top/side post configuration and did have to trim a bit in the battery boxes to make them fit. For the last 3 years I have been going direct to the Interstate distributor and buying Megatron takeouts that have been warranty replaced by dealers that are less than a year old for $30. Sometimes takes a couple of trips to get the one I want but they work great.

I use autozone Gold series batt in mine, it has lasted 4 years of AZ heat.

My friend Brent has a Hotair car with a battery called a HEATBEATER, this is the sweetest battery ever. He bought the car 6 years ago with that battery in it. It has been in and out of that car for years jump starting other cars, we use it to start our gas-powered R/C cars, and it still starts the old Buick. Best battery ive seen.
