what can I expect swapping a Monte SS servo to a GN servo

As far as shift firmness,how will it "feel" ?
I have a stock CZF in my 87 GN..while the trans shifts good,its not really a firm shift.
I have GN servo ready to go,with new seals.

Is it a worthwhile to just swap in the servo?

It depends on what year GN servo you have. The older 84-85 GN servo has the same apply area as the CZ 692 (692 being the last 3 digits of part number on the servo cover) servo. The 86-87 GN 694 servo Has a larger apply area than the CZ 692. So, if you have a 86-87 servo, I would think that you could expect slightly firmer shifts but nothing too dramatic.

No problem. I think it is a good idea to use the largest servo you have available to you even if you don't notice too much of an improvement in shift feel. Since the servo applies clamping pressure on the band to stop the direct drum, a larger servo will apply more pressure, thereby reducing slipping of the band and heat generation. The end result will be a trans that may live a bit longer, and that is always a good thing.
