3600stall 9x11BT, TE63/64, 72lb inj.(no less then 55's) and tune all day.

Oh yeah, I second the alchy(but with a TE63+) I forgot about it! ;)

Actually If mid11's were my goal, I would take a TE44 and 2800stall ANYDAY over a te61.

Maybe the better question is how fast are you trying to go?

Nothing wrong with what you got, That should go mid 11s already. How fast does it go? Or do you have money burning a hole:D In that case, Get a BB T-66 Q trim, ATR single shot (20# less wieght and louder!) Call Bruce T and get the killer street with a billet 9/11, and I second the big rubber 28x12.5x15 et streets. That will take care of oh bout 6 grand. LIFE IS GOOD!;)

Current combo is in the signature...I described the planned combo changes for the winter. Have brand spankin new 28 X11.5 Streets...need wider rims to mount them.

What about a mild cam?? Currently stock.

How fast do I want to go?? About 11.4-11.5 with no alchy but will use C16. Gotta beat my Ford lovin brothers nitrous 302 blah blah Pinto...he runs about 11.6's

What is wrong with a TE61??

Want good street driveability too.

Thanks for your opinions.

Bob

Nothing , nothing at all
I went 11.01 with ta/61 and Stock T/C in fully optioned 87T

Hears the scoop 87LtdT, no need for a T61 when a TE44 will meet/surpass your goals WITH a faster spool and better street manners, match a TE44 with a 2800stall TC, and it will spool like crazy(good thing). My suggestions is a TE44, 50lb. inj., Yank 2800stall, the exhaust you listed(ATR SS 2.5), stock cam/headers, etc, I suggest a Precision Frontmount over the V4, and get some good 110octane chips, and all you'll have to work on will be traction!

P.S. If you want it even easier, just port/polish the heads with the same combo above. :D

Don't bother with C-16, Use 112. 116 has too much lead and is desinged for high rpm use.

If 11.50's is your goal, than use what you have and tune it. With good gas and tires if that car can't go 11.50's something is really wrong. If you can't get it to go 11.50's spend your $$$ only on having someone who knows how to tune it and it may go real low 11 or high 10. Later,Frank

Thanks again to all..

I've always thought my Signature equipment should get me into 11's and am sure part of the problem is in the converter....and another part is not leaning it out lower than 780mv or above 1625 peak EGT's. Not sure what else it could be...although the chip is always a question. Been running Lubrant chips...who are other good sources?? I've never had intake or heads off so there could be some restrictions. Engine runs fine...launch could be better 1.78 60' but a part of that is the converter which will get fixed.

My thoughts are to go to the 61, ported heads, match head to intake and exhaust, and 28" (vs 26") dia tires and get the converter right. Then if I am indeed in the low 11 range with fairly high boost I might be in the mid-11's with a bit less stress.

Part of me wants to upgrade the cam while I'm in there but I 've seen too many wiped cams after an upgrade...scares me!! Would do it if the change was bulletproof.

Thanks again, Bob

Oh i'm sorry i thought it had the 61 and ported heads already. Well it still should go like mid-high 11's. You need a good fuel pump too. I like my Jay Carter 110 race chip. You will need to run like 25 boost. Frank

Got a hot wired 307...

I'm the guy whose been corresponding w/you..didn't want the used ported heads.

The 12.16 was at 27 psi...didn't mean to run it that high but stayed in it anyway!!

You should be faster than that. Stockers run that fast. Before you buy more parts you should tune what you have. What chip are you running, I see you are going to change tires, which is good. Take the money you were going to put in the motor into the chassis instead;)

Actually once I look at it that time is not too bad for the MPH. You need to figure out why your mph is so low. were you locking the converter?

12.16 was with a NL converter that was waaay too loose...the entire run was above 5000 rpm.

The first Yank I got resulted in a 12.55 with no changes from the 12.16...it was way too tight and the auto-locking mechanisim..didn't. It slipped at almost the same percentage as the NL.
