Running a stock D-5 right now was thinking about changing it out , to one with a stall around 2800 running a TA-49 small roller comp cam, ported heads with bigger valves, bigger throttle body, 38 pd injectors, stock rear and 275/60-15 tires have looked at Pats and PTC and was thinking about a restalled D-5. Any help would be great thanks George.

The PTC 2800 Lockup is Very Popular and I have several in customers cars with great results.

However, with a TA49 you should be fine with the D5 as long as you keep the cam mild.

Ported heads will also help with Spoolup.

Good Luck

Thanks my heads are ported and polished and really don't race it most of the time just a street car and some shows but want to wake it up some.

I would suggest putting money into an Alky injection kit before a new torque converter, you'll see a larger increase in power.

49/blue tops/3000 stall has been a winning combo for years.

Not looking to hijack, but I've got a 3000 stall lock-up converter sold thru West Coast Converters, but made by Edge Racing in the for sale section if you're interested in stepping up a bit.
