My guess would be that the biggest pro is the cooling benefits. I don't know about the sloshing around but its definitely something to look into. Having a drain plug is nice too.:D

While increasing the capacity might prolong how long it takes for the fluid to get hot, in it's self isn't going to make it run cooler. The drain plug is nice. I wonder thou, how much cooling air passes over it.

Have you ever tried to touch a U-Joint after a run on the freeway?. One would think, with all that air flow they wouldn't get too hot, but in fact they get extremely hot. Has anyone around here, run a differential temp. guage and done a before and after?.

pickup??

Nice looking pan and I firmly believe the fluid would have to run a bit cooler. I would like to see a pickup extension to address the starving problem.

Not better than T6061 Aluminum tho...

This is THE BEST SET UP on the market today for the 2004r. The sump and pan we have devolped has solved many peoples problems. Ask someone who has one. Also, NO ONE makes a pan that holds more additional oil than PTS XTREME.
If price is the concern, then you don't care enough to get the very best. Metal has gone up considerably, and quality costs. Our sump and pans cannot be beat. Funny... how Coan and Hughes have both bought our pans for their employees own personal cars. Hrmmm... Makes you wonder huh? There must be something to the product for them to buy.

that pan looks like a good design, the only thing is it doesnt say if it includes the 700r4 filter and hardware.we have the same thing with all the hardware and filter gasket for the same price.in my opinion the only use of the deep pan is to lower fluid temp via the extra capacity and fins.i have never had a cavitaion issue even with wheelstanding cars as long as you install our parking pawl baffle in the stock pan so the oil cant run into the rear of the trans thru this area if it is not closed off.we dont advocate there usage at all unless the customer asks for them,or weve got a super high heat generating applications.
