What does a Standard Race Tranny consist of ?

I'm going to be pulling my tranny this winter to have it rebuilt(it's starting to slip a little). I'm thinking of having Vince Janis do the rebuild because of his reputation and he is local. I emailed him to get an idea of how much the cost would be and he replied that a Standard Race Tranny would cost around a grand. I will give Vince a call and get the specifics before I take it to him, but I would also like to here from you guys on what a Standard Race Tranny should consist of. Does it mean that he will use stronger parts in the areas where needed? What should I expect to get for a $1000 ?
