I noticed the paint bubbling up a little bit behind my chrome trim, and I also have some moderate rust on the bottom edge of my passenger door, and I'm considering having the whole car repainted in a year or two. Was wondering, if I would remove all of the trim and get the car to bare metal myself, what's a fair estimate on what it would cost to have someone prime the car, sand it and shoot the base and clear??

I'm really leaning towards having the car shot in white, too... (It's Quick6'n'-K.C.'s fault :p ). I'm not overly concerned with resale value since I have no plans on getting rid of it, but would I be better off to sticking with the factory paint code?

I just had this done, removed all the trim, bumper covers, spoiler, etc... myself. The bare metal strip cost me $500 alone (Plastic Media Blasting). The primer, base coat, clear coat cost $2500. They charged and extra $100 to strip and paint all my trim pieces.

All of the above did not include any dent or ding repair.

2500-2600 is the going rate for quality work. You might find a better deal but use 2500$ as your yard stick.
