What are you getting for normal driving figures?
Not under Full BOOST :) OK maybe a little boost..

I have been checking mine & it seems to be highway/city combined at 20 mpg. I am not completly stock engine either.

I'm at about the same, mostly city driving. Maybe better than that.

Since gas prices have gone up I've been driving with a really light pedal and I think the gas mileage has gone up tremendously. Been a week since I filled up and I still havent hit the 3/4 mark. Seems like you get on the boost in these cars and you use half a tank.

My response probably won't help, but when I compare the Buick to my Jeep, I like the GN much better.

Just considering going back and forth to work, about 12 miles round trip:
Buick - 1-1/2 weeks on a tank of gas
Jeep - 4 days

I'm not complaining. I did estimate my mileage on the Jeep at about 13mpg, so I can only guess the Buick is getting at least 20. I can only estimate because neither of the speedos work quite right.

On the highway (or interstate), I can go halfway across the state of Georiga on about 3/8 of a tank with the old chip. I have Eric's street chip now but haven't tested it out on the highway yet. It should be at least as good...I hope.

i get around 14-16 city driving, and hit around 19-21 if i keep my foot out of it on the highway. honestly though it seems like just a couple of good blast will hurt my mileage pretty good though haha.

I have had 5 turbo Buicks over the last 10 or so years, and did up until the last year or so, keep very accurate mileage logs on each car. On the route that I take to work is 25 miles, each way, about half city and about half freeway. and all of the 5 cars has averaged somewhere between 16.5 to 18.3, or so. All basically stock, a few with ta-49 turbos, minor mods, all stock gearing. A hi-po chip will generally cost about 1-1.3 mpg on the average. The '87 turbo Buick that averaged 16.8 or so was running a chip in it, and the '87 turbo Buick that averaged about 18.3 or so was a 10K mile car. Just for comparasion, my '02 Z06 on the same route will average about 19, basically about 1.3-1.7 or so better mpg. I am really curious about some of the turbo Buick owners claiming 30 mpg & so forth. I am also curious about some of the turbo Buick owners that claim 8-10 mpg.

I have 2 TRs One gets 19.5 HWY running 65-70 . My stock gets 20 running 55mpg hwy.

You Guys getting 28-30 let me what you are doing. How fast are you driving??? Are your gears stock?????

the buick gets about 14-15 in the city on the highway gets 22.

just drove the new truck to the beach first long trip in it and it got 20.1 on the highway. in the city it gets about the same as the buick 14-15.

mods in sig on both :)

i think i get about 13mpg all around town (highway and city).. i really don't know, i just know that i can watch the gas guage move to E very quickly.

I always keep accurate records on all my cars.
Back when I daily drove my 87, I was getting between 18 and 25. The roads around here have a lot to do with the mileage you get. Generally, I averaged 20 on a daily basis. I managed 26.5 or so on a trip from here in NY to a friends in VA. Has TA49, 009's, Trans +, stock gears, Postons thumbwheel chip for the 009's, and does have 245/16's all around (increased rolling resistance).
I love my Escort more and more....36+mpg daily driver  Especially seeing the corner pump at $3.15/gal for 87 today.

How many gallons in a tank? I forget how many litres are in a gallon.

Should be easy to remember- about 3.8L / Gallon! (3.7854118...) OR 231 cubic inches = 1 gallon = 3.8 liters.

Thanks guys.
That means I'm around 10-12 miles per gallon City. :(
I think my 85GN was around 15 miles per gallon City. I don't mind the cost (not exactly an economy car), its having to fill up so bloody often. Lots of four way stop signs and stop and go traffic around here.

Beach trip mine got 23 mpg.HWY

When it was all stock the same trip I got 25. So the chip and converter along with my other performance parts has only hurt me by 2 mpg that is awesome.

I got mine up to 28mpg a couple times when I was commuting 210 miles a day to work with the 4.1L. After mods like ported heads, bigger cam, turbo, etc, mine gets better mileage then it did stock if I keep out of boost. It is also cleaner with emissions.
