What Floor Jack do you use?

Did a search and came up empty. Looking for a new floor jack. I have a professional series craftsmen, strong as can be, but it weighs a ton. I am just trying to avoid buying something that doesn't work well or quits working after a year.

3 criteria: lightweight, dependable and strong.

What would you recommend?

Stay away from anything at autozone. I bought a jack and stands from snap-on and couldnt be happier with them.

I have the Craftsman all ALUM.. with single front roller... It is nice because it goes up to point of contact quick.

I have a 2 ton Craftsman racing AL jack and a 3.5 ton Craftsman (Professional series). Both have the single pump to point of contact.

I have the same 2-ton (?) aluminum Craftsman jack I take with me to the track when I need too. Works great. I think it weighs like 42lbs. or so... We also have one here at the house thats older than I am! :smile:

AC Hydraulics DK12HLQ. Period. Best jack I've ever used. But it's a proper shop jack, not much for portability. Can get under the lowest vehicles (3" height lowered), jacks about 3 feet high, and is smooth. I've had mine for 5 years no problems, even though it's had a rough life.

Lincoln floorjack. Have owned it for 5 years, no problems. Recently replaced the two piece handle with one piece handle.

i have a POS Craftsman Professional that has the "1 pump to contact" feature- problem is that if it's under about 40 degrees in the garage, it randomly decides that it doesn't want to jack up any higher than the point of contact. i can jack up a car, put it on a jack stand, and try to jack it off the stand 5 minutes later and it may or may not work..
it's done that since about a week after it's 1 year warranty expired 7 years ago.
i will admit that it does work well during the warmer months, but it is the exact opposite of lightweight and the only reason i bought it was because of the nice mid sized 3 ton jackstands that came with it..

www.harborfreight.com OTC-racing knock-offs, I'd love the OTC aluminum racing jack, last time I checked, they were a TON of money. I use "HF" when they break, thow them away...buy a new one. By the way, you register online and every so oftern they email you coupons, one of them "any one item, 20% off". Like I said, "bang for the buck"...can't go wrong !

Ditto. I have one of the Harbor Freight lightweight aluminum jacks and have used it for 6 or 7 years. The thing only weights about 40lbs.

thanks for the post im looking for a new jack ... had a old MAC tools jack that worked flawlessly for the past 15yrs ... it grew legs an found a new owner Think i might try HF like the otc

Craftsman isn't going to do anything for an 8 year old jack- they wouldn't even do anything for me when it started acting up just over a year after i got it.
