... At the time Shell was rated at 92 octane and made the most power. Go figure. Shell is now at 93. I run Chevron 93 because the Techroline in it works real well keeping eveything clean. I also run Sunoco 110 leaded or Cam 2. Whatever is available. HTH.

Hey Street72, I'm not sure about the difference in the additives. Maybe the Shell is better refined?? Even though the Shell made more power at 92... You should DEFINATELY always run the Highest octane affordable to you. Remember all your engine is...is a big Air Pump... the more air and fuel you can pump in and out the more power you'll make. The higher the octane the better the flame travel across the piston in the combustion chamber which burns all the fuel in the cylinder..Hence more power. Lower octane doesn't burn as well and leaves unburnt fuel in the cylinder which causes detonation. As we all know thats bad especially on our TR's.

Gasoline is produced and shipped where it is near you. Texaco gas isn't only made in 1 spot and shipped all over. All of the gas is the same when produced by octane ratings. Then some "special" fuel is added to match the companys wants.
They can call it whatever they want "v-power" "super clean" whatever the brand name is. But it's all the same gas.
Try and goto the pump that has the most customers, allowing the gas to flow and not go bad.
Personally I use only amoco or shell only. 91 octane is highest rating here. (ya i'm a hypocrite)
