Saw a post on a Thrasher chip and remember back when they were all the rage. Anyone know who made them and why they stopped making them?

Still run them in two street cars .I can run 20 psi with no knock on my gn.
love the theft feature also.
I have the file for 36 lbers somewhere

True. And as you may or may not remember, I was one of the primary burners for the Thrasher line. But as I said, techology marches on.

Love the fact that your 87, and my 86 run virtually identical times and mph!!!! Mine was 11.67@117.5

My first upgrade chip was a 36lb 93 octane street chiip. 21lbs of boost in first gear, no knock. Got to high 12s with that chip.

Let's see.
I started with a Kenne Bell chip, Poston's, Brutal-6, Thrasher, Turbo Lou's. Been using Turbo Tweak for about 6 years now.
The TT chip was revolutionary when it first came out. It was the first chip that let you precisely adjust fuel and timing with a stock ECU. Also, the wide band chip lets your ECU do corrections off a wide band O2, with out having to go to a after market engine managment system. All this made the thrasher chip outdated. Before Eric brought out the TT chip, the Trasher was the most popular chip. Red Armstrong's were very respected too. (As my foggy brain remembers it).

Mike not to take enything from Eric as he is the MAN!
However Steve Yaklin did this since the mid to late 90s with the MAXEFFORT!!!

Yup. That's why I posted with the "My foggy brain" disclaimer.:D There were also some chips that let you select different settings.

LOVE my ME-R 16 position. Would LOVE to try a TT chip when I get my Vega project going. :-)
