What idler pulley are you guys using?

I am getting chatter from my idler pulley so i guess its time for a new one. What are you guys going with for a replacement?

I bit the bullet and ordered one from Highway Stars. Definitely not cheap, but I couldn't locate one in stock at the various places I searched. Still can't believe how freakin' expensive that thing was...

Tensioner pulley is Dayco 89006. If its the tensioner itself making a chirp and you dont want to pay the huge price for a new one, put a .5" shorter belt on the car. Ive been using a 63" belt for years since mine started chattering and its been completely silent.

To expand on the shorter belt, get one for an '89 TTA.. What's really cool is that's it's about 1/2 price as a 'GN' belt.


I'm not positive on that Dayco posted above but it seems like it's one of the plastic china pulleys.

Dayco 89001 is the plastic China pulley, 89006 posted above is the metal tensioner pulley:
