What in the world is this....

So I decided to change my intake gaskets because the end seals were leaking. And upon disconnecting everything I find this one wire going to the number five injector hacked into the harness!!!!what in the world do you think somebody did this for? I traced the wire back up under the dash and it looks to go to the instrument cluster but I have yet to remove it to see exactly where it goes.

Maybe tapped for a signal wire to....? Monitor inj. pulse? Synchronize an additional gauge/instrument/recorder....?

Not seen that, either. The mystery could be solved once the wire is traced. [And the dirt removed!]

Looks like Chachi hot wired the injector harness.

Lol guys.... just bought the car! So I can't explain everything. Idk about the hose clamp but it is gone now lol. Am also in the process of steam cleaning.. Sat for a while....

I think Dr. boost is correct there was mention of this car having a remote starter at some point. I have never wired a remote starter but I did a search online and I guess injector pulse is part of a remote start system so thank you Dr. Boost

strange to see this today ,
we had a club meet today and a new guy showed up with a car he recently purchased and knew nothing about ...and wouldnt you know ..it had a wire just like in the pic attached to #5 inj (I swear it was the same guy that did it)
and it had a remote start
