I saw a 86 century T-Type non turbo. did they make many of these
it is advertised as a race car (4door) it has t-type badges on the side and steering wheel. I thought T-Type ment it was Turbo????

Nope. Actually it is a styling and handling package. They made all the different Buick cars T-types. The only 3 that were turbo were the Regal ( of course), the Riviera, and the Skyhawk (I think) that had a 1.8L turbo 4 cylinder.

A bit of useless trivia: T-type comes from psychology in which a T-type person refers to somebody that is aggressive.

The real odd-ball model to look for is the 1986 Century Grand Sport. Same weak 231 non turbo but only available in a 2-door coupe. Came with GS specific alloy wheels, rear spoiler, special GS badging. Also only available in black. Kind of a weanie GN wana-be. And the Lear-Siegler bucket seat from the 84-86 Regals was an option. FYI, the T-type was Buicks term for sporty appearance. Eric Fisher
