Let me set the stage. I was driving home and about 2 hours into the trip all of the sudden the motor let out a backfire and smoke out of the tailpipes. The "Check Engine" light immediatly lit up and the car had a noticable lack in power, bowever the TCC was still 100% functional. during the next 30 minuites I was plauged by the motor occasionally shutting off (tach also went to 0). This would happen more often if I started to lay into the gas. It finaly did die and won't start again. I pulled a code 42 from the ECM. As of now it is on the side of the road. HELP

The poston 93 chip is great. It world be better if the car ran right. It did make a nice difference. Do you think it is probably the modue???

Hey Stephen if you get any info on the code 42 please let me know mine is giving me 42 and 44.

Thanks,
Rey

GNTType.org is the only source I have gotten a good definition for. I replaced the module today with an '87 (had parts overnighted from Posten). The car still won't start:mad: It is at Boswell's auto service in Waldorf right now. I'm thinking maybe a bad crank sensor? Does anybody know how to check one? I saw a procedure before to check it's resistance but I can't find it anymore.
