I have a 1969 DZ 302 crank I was going to put in my 1967 Chevy II. But as time changes so do plans. Since everybody and there brother are making tube front ends for eariler Chevy IIs now. It opens up the door for a big block. How much is a part # 1178 DZ 302 crank worth? It is polished .001 under. I also have aluminum BRC rods that were with it when I bought it.

Last I checked, GM gets 650 plus for a steel crank (1053 forged steel, I think). When I built my 383, the machine shop had a Cola 4340 chomemoly crank for the same price. As you can see by my sig, I chose the crank with the better steel, plus it was lightened and made for 6 inch rods. Additionally, there was no additional weight added to balance that crank.

So nice of you to notice.:D I didn't like the piston slap associated with forged pistons, so I thought I would try hypers. Any ways, they seem to work pretty well. Plus there are times I think about selling that car, since I drive my GN most of the time. Is there some redemption with that?:D

Most of them that I see on ebay are turned .020 or more. I talked to a couple of Z/28 camaro gurus awhile ago. They were telling me since it has never been turned and only polished it was worth $600+. Just wondering since it would look better in a Z/28 than on my bench.
