what is better the alky injection system?

there are so many different brands of alky injection systems and different types. so say methonal/water injection some just water injection and others just alcohol. are some kinds better than others, if so what should i get. some of the ones ive looked at replace the overflow tank for the alky system but i would like to retain the coolent tank. do you guys have any suggestions on what i should get? thanks

Get Alkycontrol.com...The only way to go IMO. Razors help is priceless when you need it. His kit replaces the overflow but comes with another overflow so you still have a coolant bottle. Use straight methanol or denatured alky. The alcohol will yield better results. Also, if you search, there are 1205648941984 posts about this.

well you'd be guessing wrong


yes the coolant overflow tanks from factory are differnt from the GN and the TTA , thats obvious
, the new alky tanks that replaces them are the same stock peices modified for the feed line and low fuel tank

the TTA kit doesnt require the 3bar map since its already there from the factory on the firebird
gn requires the 3bar map since it only came stock with 2bar (or with none with digital dash or gnx type cluster)

gn kit comes with the gain and test controller in a small box
the tta kit has a cool controller mounting that has the controls mounted on a plate goes into the little pocket in the dash on the left side of column


the gN stock dash has a place for power injection and low fuel but they are unused , the alkycontrol kit comes with bulb and led that can be incorporated into the dash for making the power injection and low fuel spots operational and appear OE

Cool, Im curious b/c I have an 87 GN motor in my 90 Firebird and was trying to find out which kit I need for my setup. I think Im gonna have to go custom.

you can call julio , he will fix you up ,

what you need is the TTA kit and add a 3bar map to it

assuming its not a TTA harness your running (you would need the both the TTA dash and engine harness as well as the instrument clluster to make the map connection under the hood functional

the gN harness will have the map connector but it needs to be made functional , follow the instructions for GN with digital dash or gnx dash to make the engine harness map connector active

Okay, I'll have to do that b/c Im almost positive that its not hooked up I'll definatly be calling Julio but not for a while. Im broke!!!!!!!

Or call Julio and he will tell you what to measure. Turbo91bird had a kit made and I bet it will be close to that kit. Like I said he will be more than glad to talk to you before or after cash passes.

Day to night.. completely different. Hoses, tank, fittings, hardware, instructions, the 3 bar issue, etc.


You need a 3rd gen Fbody kit=TTA kit with an additional 3 bar sensor and pigtail for it..depending on which harness you used.

I think what you meant to say is that there are many knock offs out there. There is only one true ALKY kit and that is ALKY control. Do a search in the threads and talk to many people then when you are ready to order a kit pick up the phone and call Julio or go to his website www.alkycontrol.com.:biggrin:

No one has done more with methanol than him. His kit is safe and reliable.
