i have stock heads 8445 felpro replacement turbo head gaskets and arp hex head bolts.arp wants 65lb ft with arp moly lube and 80lb with 30 weight oil.i am going to use the moly lube i think that 65lb isnt enough for the bolt what are u guys torqueing your bolts to.

I went from 55 to 85 in increments of 10 with ARP thread sealer on the bolts. Make sure you clean the threads in the block with a thread chaser to get proper torque readings.

I can tell you from a very expensive experience that do not torque them 80 ft-lbs with the moly lube unless you feel like using heli-coils. Also there are 3 sizes in case you didn't realize it. My heads are torqued down 70 ft-lbs with the lube using stock GM gaskets and I have been running 19-21 psi on 93 for 2K miles and have no problems. Don't go crazy with the torque because those specs are recommended for a reason. The lube is very slippery even under pressure and will obviously clamp the head down properly. "thinking" is good, but that will not supersede the tons of testing and experience ARP has.

Absolutely / ditto / Amen! DO remember to re-torque them a few times during assembly to polish the threads, washers and boltheads so your torque readings will be as accurate as possible. Use ARP's thread sealant(works great IF you clean out the threads in the boltholes as well as the ones on the bolt with mineral spirits). It's formulated to be as slick as their moly lube. Do it correctly, and you'll only have to do it once.
