What is this crusty connector for???

I found this 3 wire connector wrapped in duct tape stuff behind the fuel pressure regulator. Don't know what it's for. If someone knows please let me know.

get a T fitting and put a stock oil pressure switch in it along with the gauge... the red light will get your attention immediately when you lose oil pressure, but you might not look at the gauge until you hear the engine making funny noises..
