It broke from the engine harness when I was wrestling with it to remove my intake. Anyone know what it is for?

I believe the loose ground you are showing goes to the heat and a/c box. I think it attaches to the heater core. I could be wrong.

I agree but the wire is behind the black plate. As long as heater core is grounded I would think its fine.

Which black plate are you referring to? I removed the heat shield over the heater box but did not find the other end to the broken ground.

So I got the car put back together with exception of this broken ground wire. Car starts and drives fine, but the battery voltage will not go higher than 11V (as displayed on the scanmaster). I'm hoping the ground is to the alternator and not that my alt. is bad.

Any other in on what this broken ground wire belongs to?

here is a pic of ware it is on my car hope this helps it is on the clamp that holds the heater core in place.

Thanks for the response. This doesn't make sense to me though. On my car, one end of the ground strap is attached to the fire wall, if the other end was attached to the screw that you show, which appears to be another ground, what is the purpose?

it grounds the heater core to the body. the screw is for the clamp that holds the heater core in place my heater core is out so it looks funny thats not a ground its the clamp for the core it is u shaped and sits on top of the heater core to hold the core in place. I can put the core in tomarrow and take a pic from the top for you so you can see it better.
