Can anyone tell me what this box is? It's on an '87 Turbo T I picked up. It has a series of green and red LEDs. When the car is at idle, the green light is on and as the RPMs are raised, the red ones light in sequence. It is wired in to the TPS. The prior owner didn't know what it is either.

Thanks,
Donny

TPS-TEC

Throttle Position Sensor-Throttle Enhancement Calibrator???.

Some like them, some don't. Basically it makes the TPS report to the ECM that it is at full trhottle whenevever it is at 70%(I think) throttle. Making the car go into Power enrichment mode sooner. They are available from Casper's Electronics.

Here's the link:

That's what it is. I had one on my car and I really couldn't tell a difference with or without it....

It alters the tps voltage output, giving higher voltage quicker, allows WOT reading to be acheived sooner. If you have a chip that is adjustable with KOEO throttle input the TPS-TEC may need to be removed during the chip adustments.

as said above its a TPS-TEC. You should just take it off the car you dont need it.
