Looks like you also have the stock breather on the end of the valve cover. This set up allows oil to enter the intercooler. If you haven't removed it foe cleaning in a number of years you very well may have a pint or more of oil in the intercooler. Most of us go to an open element breather in that spot.

No turbo removal necessary.REmove tube and old filter.Gbody and others sell a new breather with a rubber cap.Cap goes on turbo bell and breather goes where other breather went.Maybe a good idea to get a new breather rubber grommet just in case..

The breather just pulls out. Remove the little shield and pop a new K&N open element breather. No need to remove the turbo.
