What might be wrong with my steering?

I noticed that on my TR when turning the wheel from dead center there's a slight lack of resistance. It happens both ways. It happens mainly when the car is moving.

Is this normal? Or can i tighten up the worm gear to take out the slack?

check for worn center link or pittman arm.....

The bearing in the steering gear box can wear, too and result in a dead area in the steering.

I just had the box in my 2+2 rebuilt because at 160 mph I could turn the wheel slightly and the car didn't do anything (thanks to lots of caster).

Turned out to be the Box.

check pwr steering fluid it might need changing.
