does everyone use? im going to the track sunday and i can get Torco racing fuels.. they have 118 and 118nos... what should i run? what does everyone else run? i used to use VP C16, but i cant find it anymore :(

I've used the 118 NOS before. It worked good for me. But for $10 a gallon where i use to buy it at it was a little to much money per gallon. I use the Sunoco Maximal 116 octane now. It's alot cheaper per gallon. I say use the 118 NOS.

the 118nos is i think 7.85 a gallon... i gotta check.. but i can get any torco fuel.. just trying to see which is better for a turbo'ed car..

octane isnt' nexessarly waht makes fuel good for whatever. i've had better luck with vp red than with their c12, even though the c12 has more octane.

the reason for this (or what i was told) is the red has a different burn rate, octane alone doesnt' make a fuel good, its all the properties in the fuel that mix well with your car that makes it really work.

but for sunoco higher octane is better, vp has too many different types made for different applications to go strictly off octane.

and too much octane can make a car run bad too, but with a turbo and high boost thats not a big problem for us.

I use 118 at the track mixed with whatever is still in the tank when I pump it almost dry. I pay $5.25/gal here.

There is 110 octane down the street from me at the Marathon station for 5.25 a gallon:D Anyone have any luck with this stuff?

yeah i ran 110 before from marathon and could run 24 psi no problem... probably more but didnt bother

also ran torco 110 and had same results as well as turboblue... i think that is 110 but could be wrong

Standard TurboBlue is 110 octane. They also have TurboBlue Advantage and TurboBlue Extreme. The Extreme is 118. In my neck of the woods the regular TurboBlue was $3.80 a gallon, and the Extreme was somewhere around $5.

Now too much octane isn't always a good thing ( As denn454 pointed out). I don't recommend using 118 octane on a stock turbo car its just a waste of money. Even if you running a 36* chip, 23psi and a fmic. 110 will do if your not in the 11's yet.

Also on a side note, Marathon (around my house) sells Unical 110- also known as Unical "Royal Purple".

Hope this helps-
Chris
