I'm in the process changing the TH350 in my Corvette to a 200-4R that came from a Monte Carlo (although it was in a GN before I got it, go figure) and I'm having a little trouble getting the torque convertor to bolt up. The stock Corvette TH350 uses a nut and bolt configuration to attach to my flexplate whereas the stock torque convertor from the Monte is threaded so only a bolt has to go in. I'm having a little trouble figuring out the correct length of the bolt to go into it to ensure enough strength. I'm also afraid that it's metric and I'm using a standard bolt. I don't know what the setup is for this. Stock, the entire drivetrain on the Corvette is standard, but everything else is metric. It's a little confusing. So, what's the size of the bolt for this thing?

metric 10mm x 1.5x 15 mm long

go to your gm dealer and get a set. they still handle them
they come with threadlocker already on them and have anice wide shoulder to spread the load out on the flexplate
i tried arp fasteners. they do not make a 2004r specific bolt.
gm part number 1261968. just bought some tuesday and they are a good strong piece

Good advice about going to the dealer.

A fairly common error is someone erroneously using a bolt that is a bit too long. It will raise a dimple on the inside of the converter right where converter clutch friction material rides. Wanna guess what happens soon afterward? :o
