What are you guys doing with the boost solenoid when running an external gate?

Leave the electrical connector connected, but don't have any hoses run to the solenoid when running an external wastegate. This way, the ECM won't freak out and trip a trouble code when you get into boost with no solenoid hooked up. Basically you're tricking the ECM into thinking all is well with the solenoid still electrically attached. Worked perfect for me, for years.

A nice alternative if you have annaftermarket ecu like fast is that you can use the boost control feature to pulse the factory solenoid and control boost.

If you are running a TurboTweak chip you can just throw the solenoid on the shelf. Won't set a code. Tape up the harness and tuck under the intake manifold out of sight.

If it is not to hard to explain, could you give an oversight of how that would work? Do you still use the FAST boost solenoid that is optional?

Thanks,
Geoff

Hey, that's interesting. I did not know that. I thought with a TT chip you still had to have the electrical hooked up or a code would be set.
So if understood, I could go tuner style......adjust boost with the rod and unhook electrical from solnoid, as long as I have a TT chip?

yep yep not a problem .. I dont have one & no codes .. Eric is the man when it comes to chip's ..YOU WILL STILL NEED A BOOST CONTROLER I USE AN RJC.
