Lets say those dudes got off there duffs at GM and said--
"Lets build a new TR"
What would you like to see on this modern car?
My vote would be for a out of the box 11 second screamer
With a GNX like option that could run mid to low 10's

Todays technology with a Turbo Regal and Billions in research and automated equipment. Now that's a car!!

One thing, it must have the same aggressive body style as the 80's cars.
:D

You're reaching a little, but I do think it is somewhat possible. Prolly would be somewhat similar to the new GTO, but let's pray the exterior styling is just a tad more aggressive.

First off it would probably be australian :(
strike 1

Next GM do what you want
Strike 2 (they always go opposite)

Why build a better mouse trap? you would pay a fortune to get what you want out of a new car.
Strike 3

With small $$ investment you can make the original GN's
go as quick as this dream car your suggesting.

Gee sounds like I don't want to play this fantasy car game :(

TROO DAT!

Think about it this way:
Any new decent fast car (GTO, GS, whatever) is going to cost north of 30 big ones. You can buy LOW mileage GN's with the plastic still on the seat for much less and have speed money to spare. OR, you could even buy a LOW mileage GNX. In either case, it's basically a new car, just no warranty.

Gee, I wonder why I have such a new car attitude? Overpriced sh!tboxes.

Simple - RWD, turbo, bigger than a "sport compact". (Maybe even two doors, since we're already dreaming)
