The Blackberry Bold is a nice phone for the money. I've had one for almost seven months now and really like it. I personally liked it better than the iphone, to each his own though. It likes to eat batteries if you don't close all of the applications.

Iphone for me. I dont think I will ever own another phone that isnt made by Apple (if I did it would be a blackberry)
and when the new o.s. 3.0 comes out in a few weeks the iphone will be more amazing than it is now

iPhone it is. I also picked one up for my wife. The good news is this was after we spoke with our CPA today. Our consulting company can pay the entire bill for the data, test, and two phones as hers is around 80% business usage and mine sits right around 99%. sweetness:) Mine is the main line for any calls that come in and it's what is printed on all our materials.

Thanks everybody.

You may or may not be aware there is the 3.0 software coming out for the Iphone within the next few weeks its going to be adding a number of new features and its a free download through Itunes

MMS
Tethering with PC for use as a modem
copy and paste
forwarding sms
widescreen sms and email
stereo bluetooth
improved icon layouts
ability to run im in the background

the list goes on but those are the main updates, if anyone ever needs info feel free to pm me, im a wealth of somewhat useful cell phone info

Mine freezes up then I have to remove the battery to reset it. To many steps to use the phone. The touch screen responds but doesn't do anything. I'm just not that happy with it. I'm not a fan of the touch screen. And yes, they've replaced the phone and I got the updates.

Once Aug comes, (1 year w/ the Dare) I'm getting a BlackBerry.

What software version are you running in your Dare?

The upcoming update with the tethering was a big selling point for me. I do work at client sites all the time and often can't get to my email becuase of their firewall restrictions. The iPhone will provide a quick way around that.

How do I convert the phone to be an access point so my laptops can connect to the internet via the phone. A friend of mine has his setup this way and it seems to work pretty good.

I am curious on how to do this too

Actually thats not something that you would do on the phone but it can be done with virtually any wifi compatible vista or possibly xp i cant remember laptop

You use the data cable to hook into the USB port for the computer, this provides your internet connection, then you need to create whats called a adhoc network, this uses the wifi of your laptop to create a wifi network that your other computers can get on.

I've done it before to use my cell phone to play xbox live at hotels when traveling, you essentially use your laptop as a router

Hmm. Same software I'm running. Tell me.... when your phone freezes, does it lock up with the "Touch to unlock" banner at the bottom?, and touching it does nothing?
What wallpaper are you running?

No wallpaper, just a pic I took.

I don't use the "Touch to Unlock" feature.

cellphone

i use a sidekick, it gives you internet access and connects with a mini USB and i can pull and put things on it. Just my preferance, but blackberry's and there are just too many phones. it really depends on the user, your best bet would be to hit best buy, or some cell shop that carries good phones. It'll give you a wide variety of what they can do and you can get the general feel of it. As for me, sidekick is the bomb for texts and what i need it to do.
