in the process of about to send my 87 GN to bodyshop for repaint and was gonna order front bumper fillers from gbodyparts.com . some people have said to get fiberglass bumper inserts(say last longer) but I want something that fits identical to factory .your feedback would be surely appreciated.thanks

I have Spoolfool's fiberglass fillers as well and the fit & finish is excellent but it sounds like you want soft fillers like the factory ones. If thats the case, I believe the soft fillers from GBodyparts is a good choice. As long as you're not reusing 27 year old originals, longevity should not be an issue.

I have painted and installed all of the manufactures bumper fillers.

GBodyParts has the fronts perfected 100% fit, with spoolfool a very close second at 90%.

Spoolfool has the better rear at 90% fit with GBodyParts in second with a 85% fit.

Danco fillers do not get the fit out of the box, but are the cheapest in price. They take hours of fiberglass rework to make show car level fitment.

I have the GBodyParts front and rear fillers on my concours gold show car, but I prefer the spoolfool rear for fitment and looks.

Thanks
Bill

which gbodyparts front fillers are you reffering to?

The best fitting are the stock soft style that they had made. Those are what I am referring to.

Good luck with your fillers. Mine were getting rough before I swapped mine. SpoolFools for me.

No experience with the spoolfool set. But I have the gbodyparts OEM style and the fit is fantastic.

X2 Chris , the body shop that I brought car too said they were the easiest fillers they ever did , they said to me you sure you want these painted? Lol I gave them spool fools card for other Buick customers . :)

Definitely Spoolfool's fillers if you want the best in the business......just don't bump into something with your bumper, as they are fiberglass......still, most beautiful, perfect fine specimen car part I've ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on .......Mike is one hell of a perfectionist and it shows......

If you just have a daily driver, go with rubber fillers, as if you hit something at low speed, you won't ruin your fillers, lights, right and left fenders, headlight bezels and all that stuff.

But, if you are a very careful driver, go with Mike's.....you just can't get any better fillers ANYWHERE. They come painted black, and fit perfect! Man, I wish I were a perfectionist, but every time I try to be one, I drop the part, usually on a hard concrete floor!

Bruce '87 Grand National

PS: How's that for a plug, Mike?;)

$199 all 4 fillers ( Danco )
and an hr worth of work
For fitment total for front and rear

Well gentlemen, maybe the 4 sets I painted and installed were all the same fitment, and not the norm for spoolfool. My intentions are not to downgrade the spoolfool fillers as they are a great product, but to help inform buyers of the options available. Now calling all spoolfool front filler guys, can I get pictures of installed and painted, front filler area near the grille where the header panel lines up with the filler that has the high thin line going to the front bumper? Need up close pics please. This is the only area I have had a concern about as the rest of the filler up the front fender and below the headlight area is great.

The op ask for a front filler that is identical to original, Imho the GBodyParts.com soft filler does this perfectly.

If a customer ask me to paint and install the spoolfool fillers, I would in a heartbeat as they are great fillers, easy to install and a overall great product. MIKE does have a great product, no doubt.

If a customer ask which is the best fitting, I would do GBodyParts.com soft front with spoolfool rear.

How many posters have installed both spoolfool and GBodyParts.com fillers?

On a side note, I do not feel that if using fiberglass fillers, and in a accident, that they will damage the rear or front sheet metal significantly, they will break before doing any large amount of damage. Do we have anybody that can verify this, as this is my opinion.

Thanks
Bill

1fastcobra, I see those are danco front fillers, I have done at least 15 sets of those over the years. Still do these for the budget minded people, they all have there place in the market.

Thanks
Bill
