Looked at a 86 t-type today,
wondering what people would think it is worth.
It is a southern o rust car with 69k mi.well kept orig paint in pretty nice shape some scratches + dings here + there.but well taken care of.Bone Stock.
Here is the thing it is what i would consider the least desirable color combo,Actually the whole combo is what i would consider THE least desirable combo i could imagine on a T-Regal.
Grey outside with blackout + grey inside.(Boring)with bench + column auto.
+ it's an 86 which i think also hurts value a bit.
It also just went thru 1 person who bought it to sell,to another person who bought it from him to sell,so i think not long ago this car went dirt cheap.
Whats it worth?

Without seeing pics or knowing what mods it has if any, I would guess $8k or $9k.
But I would have to disagree about the color.IMO grey/blackout is one of the top 3 colors on a T-type along with white or silver. But you know what they say about opinions.

As i said Bone Stock, absolutely no mods,+ pics would just show a grey on grey,t-type.orig paint,in decent shape but not mint,I 'm just looking for ball park.
I don't hate grey,it just has no pizazz,it's like a non color.
I have a grey one now + also a white car, everybody looks right past the grey + says what a beautiful car the white one is. but to be fair the white one is a much nicer cleaner car then my grey one.
but the white one would also make the grey one i looked at today look blah + boring. The white one will turn heads everywhere it goes on the street, while that grey one from today, will slip by most people other then tr fans without even being noticed.
The grey one i have now,(but not for long,It's actually sold + waiting to be picked up) actually is a nice combo because it has the Chrome Package, which really wakes up the blah color,+ also side marker light's,astro roof, maroon buckets + console,+ chrome wheels.so it has a really nice look.much nicer then the other one.
But if i had to pick the most boring, uninspiring combo,it would have to be,the one i saw today, grey on grey, blackout, bench + column auto.
What other combo could possibly be less appealing. It wouldn't be as bad if it had maroon or blue interior,or even same colors but with buckets,or definetly the chrome package.but it's like someone went out of their way to make the most boring tr i have seen to date. Maybe it would grow on me.
It's still a clean, car,so i would kind of like to have it but then it takes up room for a car that i would prob like better. I think it's a bit high,so thats why i'm seeing what others think ,to maybe back up my thoughts on the price. Thanks for your input,It helps.

My opinion is i really prefer the grey wo2 with grey interior hardtop BUT with bucket seats! It would be easy to convert over the front seats/column/gauges/console. I really think grey looks much better with black trim than with the chrome! I also think grey cars with maroon interior are gross!!!! By the way i just chopped up a grey on grey hardtop with wo2 which was my first turbo buick i wished it was in the shape of the 1 you describe:( I also have a grey wo2 t top with maroon interior bucket seat car that i bought to take speed parts off of and resell. Reselling the car is not going well due to our crappy economy and that 1 may also get parted to recoup my money. But back to your original question the value of the car you are looking at i would guess a good selling price of around $7- $8000. Not the dreaming price of $10-$11,000. I base this off of other cars that i have seen on here which appear really nice and with low miles about the same kinda condition as you describe that just sit on here for what seems forever. There is a 91,000 mile grey wo2 maroon interior in nyc on tb.com that the guy is asking $8800. There was a white chrome hardtop that had around 65,000 miles in northern ca that the guy i think is asking around $7000 now and has been forsale since early last summer. Just my opinions and trying to help
