First off I applaud all the people who are good parents that are taking responsibility for their children.

I personally decided that I did not want children a long while back I’m 27 now. My GF has decided that she does not want children either. My only problem is I think she decided that because I know I do not want children.

My reasons for not wanting children might seem pretty silly/stupid to some, but here is a few.

I am greedy and selfish. I want my time/life to myself and my SO. When you have children your focus is no longer on you. It’s on the new life you created. That’s something that’s just not for me.

Children are not miracles. They are a natural occurrence. Anyone can have children (not many can be good parents).

There’s enough population without me adding to it. I really don't see the world being a good place for children. I see the kids of today and think to myself, if this is the future, it looks very bleak.

Just not something I want to do. The next step for me is to get snipped so that its much harder for an ‘accident’ to happen.

I kinda want children just so I can see what they look like. :D

Then there is a part of me that says what Chris said...

Also, do you think the wrong people would be having children if the government didn't take care of them? I've had parents that have though it's wise to have more children because the government gives you more money! INSANE!!!

I'm a teacher, and the burden after 12yo statement: LMAO!

My wife had a son from a previous marriage (now 6) that calls me Dad, but we knew when we got married that we wanted to have at least one together. We didn't put a timeframe on it which is a good thing since my son was conceived on our honeymoon. Gatlin is now 17 months old and those 2 boys are everything to us. No, I don't get to work on my cars or my other hobbies as much as I used to, but nothing could be more rewarding to me
than our children. As I told my best friend right after he had his first son "He will change your life" to which he answered "He already has". That pretty much sums it up for me.

Need to pass on PIMPology to someone
tired of cutting the grass
Need a dog walker
Need a car washer that's affordable

I could go on and on.....:D

reason to have kids? Because marriage killed all your friendships and you need to "make" new friends. I wouldn't want anyone else to have my cars except my future kids. So i can help keep youth baseball more dominant than soccer. So i can send my boy to the same all boys school that i went to. the reasons never stop.
