Seven Ups- Greatest car chase scene ever - better than Bullit. Pontiac Lemans and a Catalina going at it through the streets of New York for about 14 minutes.

ah..

Catch me if you can " the car movie with the 68 Chevelle and 57 Chevy"
was pretty cool also

Something that only "old geezers" will remember....or those of us who were young'ns at the time in 1974.......

Funny Car Summer did more to get me hooked on drag racing than anything else.

Road Warrior--FTW!

I always liked how madmax could turn on the blower, LOL.
The Aussies always had the cool cars even to this day.

Funny Car Summer

Yea, that was the first car movie that got me hooked. I saw it at the drive in movies when I was ten years old. That was 32 years ago. The funny thing is that it must have made an impression on me cuz I still remember it. How come I cant remember the chick-flick that my wife made me watch the other night:biggrin: ?

Can't believe I forgot to mention "American Graffiti"

Another amusing one was "The Wraith"

anyone remember "California Kid"??? Young Martin sheen against "Combat" era Vic Morrow!!

Vanishing Point, it had everything in it, sex, drugs, rock and roll, women, and an anti-establishment anti-hero.

Not to mention a long long car chase.

Christine
The Car w/ James Brolin
Cannonball Run

It's neat to see someone mention "Hot Rod". I recall watching that a long time ago.........a young punk named Brad Pitt was in it.

The original gone in 60 seconds for sure. The new one is lame and dull compared to the original. "A" list actors trying to out-act the car, and just wheren't very convincing to me, didn't help when "Eleanor" had a lot smaller role in it than the original. Elanor "was" the original gone in 60 seconds. The original was car chasing almost the entire length of the movie, and filmed the good old fashioned way with no woop de doo special effects and explosions to try to appeal to bigger audience. You have to see it with the original soundtrack also. They apperantly couldn't get the rights to the music when they released it on dvd. The picture quality is better, but unfortunetly they put porno music in the background for the entire movie. :( not that I know what porno music sounds like or anything

Ah yes, Two-Lane Blacktop.

The drag strip scenes were filmed a few miles from here at the defunct Lakeland International Raceway.

I JUST sold the 1:18 scale 55 new in the box for $158.00 on Ebay!

I got mine off ebay about 3 yrs ago when they where going for $25 buy it now. I bought the GTO around the same time for $90, last i checked they where going for twice that now. Sure would be nice if our turbobuicks appreciated like that. Hell, maybe I should add these to my insurance policy.:p
