wheel hop

I am getting wheel hop on the street with my 275 60 15 will slicks help stop this ,going to the track next friday when i stall it up on the street i can only get about 2psi before it spins. And should i leave my car in over drive , can i get a lot more out of it shifting my self.

Wheel hop is usually a sign of a problem like a broken swaybar, bad shocks, a bent lower control arm or bad bushings. Slicks may mask the problem, but if you fix the problem, your car will be quicker with radials and with slicks.

An Air bag on the right side and better brakes will help it hold more boost at the line, once the hop issue is resolved.

As for what gear to race in, there is nothing to be gained by shifting a stock motored T-R manually. If you are running 1/8th mile, go ahead and use OD, but in the 1/4 mile only run in Drive.

Shifting into OD at full throttle is hard on the transmission and will slow you way down in the 1/4.

Slicks will make a big difference, I have the ladder bar also, no hop at all.
