There is no doubt the board has changed, just like the Nats, its like everything is not fun anymore and everybody is an expert on it I have the benifit of starting at the begining, seeing the growth and the downsizing of the community it is a little depressing, say hi to Scott for me hope to see you at the Nats TD.

I'm sure if you've been paying close attention, most of the "originals" are no longer even on the board. There's good reason.

Well just because you've jumped ship for a Camry of all things:rolleyes: doesn't mean you still cant chime in with your thoughts. I bet it is real lively over on camry.com. or you wouldn't still be here. I've been in it since day 2(1987) and I feel like a noob compared to some of you guys. In fact that was the reason for me to start posting on the boards. I was a lurker for many years. I used to spend my lunch hour laughing at some of the threads I was reading. You are correct. I think part of the reason for the success of the Buick boards is because of the median age of the members. What is that? Like 40-50 years old? It too erks the heck out of me when some kid who was making mud in his Pampers when these cars were on the showrooms starts yammering about the history of our cars. Sometimes I wonder if I haven't became a post whore just to hear myself talk....er write. I always like to tell my wife, you know the old guys sitting in the retirement home who tell old war stories? Well when I get that old that will be me yammering on about Turbo Buicks. The best history is told be those who were there.:(

I haven't jumped ship. Just for the record it's a Honda Accord (American made BTW) (I wouldn't own a Toyota) check my sig.

And for added fire to the horsepower arguements. It's normally aspirated and makes 268hp to the wheels.

I don't think the median age is 40-50 anylonger. I'm guessing much younger than that now.

I'm pretty sure the now defunct 'Cars Illistrated' dynoed a 'new' 86 GN and got 276 NET horsepower. I've read in 'other' mags through the years that being a 14.0-14.3 quarter miler with the trap speeds being 96-98mph STOCK that that's pretty much the 'actual' real horsepower. Now don't forget this was an 86 GN. The 10 horsepower difference between the 86-87 was purely on paper. Look at the RPM range where they get the figures from between the 86-87 and you'll see what i'm talking about. But to me it really doesn't matter anyways. The cars performance speaks for itself..................;)
