have heard of these dual chip holders that allow you to switch between two chips, for race and street. Any idea on wrere to get em and how much?

thanks,

Vic

Nick, would you want to sell it? If FNGNG is not interested, I might be. Do you have any info on it? Is it reliable? Must be a reason they don't make them anymore.. I like the idea though. Thanks, Mike

caspers sells blank thumbwheel chips that can be programed by yourself or another chip burner. I'm sure if you were to buy the thumbwheel and send it to someone like Jay C., Red, Joe L.... They could burn a couple chip settings. I used to run a 8-position thumbwheel Ultrachip from Caspers, and yes you could change on the go  my buddy decided to push the lower setting button as I was waiting to turn out of the gas station and he stalled the car on me  by putting it into a off position.

I thought the old PROM-PAQ gizmo held four chips?? Anyway, as a more simplistic way to accomplish the same thing, people figured out how to use larger capacity chips, burn four subsequent images onto the chip and use some sort of switch to access parts 1, 2, 3 or 4 on the chip. Then there came the 8-position chips, then 16. All based on the same access principle.

Casper's Thumbwheel is the dominant product in this market.

If you want to run multiple chips, thumbwheel chips are the way to go.

Those that have tried to make multi chip holders (Caspers included) haven't had very good luck. At least not in the Automotive market place. Seems EMI and RFI pose too big of a problem.

Poston Enterprises

Poston Enterprises sells a Mutli Position chip that uses about 6 different combinations of boost, octane, rpms? etc. plus a valet setting, don't know if it's still around. i saw it in their catalog about 2 years ago.

Just buy the Max Effort thumbwheel chip and you get the best on the market. 16 settings and 16 adjustable perameters. It is sold by Caspers.
