I am rebuilding my 200 and I cannot for the life of me remember where this goes.

I have two manuals that I am looking at and neither one has any thing on this part, not that I can make out anyway.

Well...
My guess would be it goes on the low apply piston on the back of the low support.
If you left it out, the trans will likely air check fine, but when it gets 300 psi of reverse pressure it will blow the seals out and no reverse.

Don't ask me how I know this.

It could also go in the forward or direct drum on the apply piston.

Looks like the low reverse apply ring. Id drop the vb and air test the low reverse clutch pack. The clutches wont apply immediately with minimal air if the ring is not there. You can see the clutch stack up in the rear of the case without pulling all the internals out. The piston will have to travel the extra distance and will blow the seals out like Jake stated. If you left that out you will have to tear down all the way to the low reverse center support:eek: .

It's not back together yet. We were close though. How would this part be situated in relation to the clutch pack. I did notice some space between the clutch pack and the snap ring.

Its spring steel and there is a groove in the piston that is fits into. You have to close it up till the ends touch when putting it on the piston. There is always a lot of clearance on the low/reverse clutches. I cant see any benefit in reducing it. Its like that to reduce drag when not applied.
