Where due I get this stuff from?? "Methyl-tertiary-butyl-ether (MTBE)" I found it in the GNTTYPE.org site about octane boosters and was going to pick some up but damn if I can find anything labled with this :(

What is it called at the home stores?? some kind of thiner??

The other one was "Toulene" and I think I got this one its a cleaner degreeser according to the lable and says "HIGHLY FLAMABLE" In huge red letters lol.

any help would be great I just want to make up some Octane booster and give it try to see how it works with ulta 94 (tryin for 100 oct.) :D

mtbe is currently banned from use in many states , not even sure it could be purchased by an individual even back then

if you want to up octane try xylene (available at harware stores and the like) with some mystery oil
but its about 12 a gallon and needs to be mixd nearly 1-3 to be really effective , gets expensive with 6 gallons per tank

cheaper to just locate a source of race gas if thats what your after

or go with alky injection and run methanol , thats the way i went

Hummm Maybe just mix the race gas and 94 to get 100 oct. Just hate the lead thing total pain. Alky is on the deck for next year just tryin for that 11 sec. pass this year almost there went 12.11 @118 :) Me not happy till the 11.90 mark lol. Then it justafies the Roll cage for next year when we add the N20 and Meth Inj. set ups :)
Thanks for the info

At 118 MPH you don't need better fuel you need better tires. I ran an 11.84 @ 115 with a crappy 1.7xx 60' time.

Very true we have slicks on the way and just looking for more ;) NEVER CAN HAVE ENOUGH!!! :D

With alky, I'm running 23psi with no power plate and on 89 octane. 25 degrees total timing. I'm only getting about .7 degrees of KR. I was doing some retuning after putting the D5 converter back in. I hit 23 psi and the spoolup a/f curve was great and everything was tuned ok. Then I remembered I had put 89 octane in there cause of this gas price problem. Its amazing what alky can make up for if you squirt enough of it in there. Screw race gas for a daily driver....Unless you're richie rich or something and can afford to piss money away on exhaust fumes.
