looking for specifically a 2 1/16 vdo black faced tach, anyone know where to get one that will work withthe ccci ignition?
actually, anyone know where the best place to buy any vdo guages is?

Google is your friend, try and google for "VDO 2 1/16 tach" You'll have to sift thru a bit but they are listed. And you can always check jegs and summitracing

Summit...

I ordered a VDO tach that size from them, but was sent a 4k version instead of the 6k pictured. I have to send it back, so hopefully they do have a 6k version.

Well, this isn't exactly what you wanted but I did I similar thing to what I'm thinking you want to do.
I like the bigger gauges (2 5/8") because they are easier to read. I bought the a-pillar pod from Poston's to hold two 2 5/8" gauges. Got a liquid filled boost gauge from autometer along with their 2 5/8" tach. Mounted on the a-pillar, they are easy to view and now I have a tach without some giant honkin thing attached to my dash. From what i remember it's a 10k tach too. not that you'd need that
Just a thought. Hope it helps a little

if i ordered either the autometer or vdo from summit, would they automatically be calibrated or the cci ignition setup? or woul di have to specify that somehow

No, most of the tach's have a switch on them to choose between 4-6-8 cylinder. On the auto meter's you just pull the cover off the back and toggle the switch to 6 cylinder. Of course your tach signal comes from the green connector wire near the front of the driver side valve cover.
