Hi all,
I was told by a guy in my local club that he was able to get information from gm about his 1986 monte carlo super slow through a special parts division. I bought my car in 1988 and the original owner was nice enough to throw away my trunk rpo code sticker.
I was hoping to be able to find out what exact codes came on my specific car (so I can have a repro sticker made) and any other info (like assembly line dates, build order, etc.). Is anyone out there aware of such a site or service?

I believe dealers have access to that information based on the VIN # so that they are able to determine the correct replacement parts in the absence of an RPO label.

How does an RPO sticker get thrown away? I thought they came affixed to the trunk?

Also look if your operators manual has a folder. Usually a dealership will stamp the folder with thier address. If the dealer still exists bet they will have some paperwork on it.

My guess is it was thrown away as I did not know to ask for it at the time in 1988 as I was only 18. The first owner thought the car looked stealth as an all black car, so he removed all the emblems, then he really went overboard by eliminating the trunk and under the hood stickers. He even sprayed black spray paint over the door stickers, which I was able to salvage. They aren't great to look at, though.

I'll look through the info I have to see if there is dealership info still there. Thanks again.
