I think that whoever you call will listen to what you have to say about the car when they arrive. I had all 3 of mine appraised and the guy looked them over and checked out their condition. Once he completed that part I explained the limited production aspects(TTA) or rare options (316 mile GN) etc etc. He then consulted 3 different classic car guides and added in a bit for the low miles and options and we came to a mutually agreeable amount for the appraisal. I did this for insurance purposes so I wanted to make sure the car was appraised for enough to cover my loss but not necessarily the absolute most the car would be worth. One of the guides had the TTAs with average miles in the low 20s but that to me was unrealistic. So we discussed the current market and came up with a more realistic price. Good luck.

I'll appraise it for ya! $25. I'll give ya $50 and you can take the 100% profit and put it towards a new one! :D

Have a look at www.i-van.org That's a national network of appriasers that are also car enthusiasts. If they run into a situation that's hard to determine a value, they can call upon other members that may know more and be able to help get a fair appraisal value.

The Chicagoland Chapter swears by M&M Auto - Mike Grippo. His number is 702-568-5120. He's located in Henderson, Nevada. Yes, I know, it's not local, but give him a call. He really knows the Turbo Buicks, and can do a great appraisal through the mail.

Can't hurt to talk to him!

If you're in the south FL area, Musclecar Engineering (MusclecarNeal on this board) knows his $hit. He appraised mine today...for $432,059.

try www.carrollstauto.com

he is in Manchester NH. I think it is around $100 -125.
to do you up.. Not sure if he does only older cars.

I know I know your car is 16ish & is in the classic stage of its life.

Good Luck JOE ( NOT JIM) :)

Joe I'd recommend Mike Grippo, I used him to appraise both my GNX's and my 10 Sec GN.

He does know these cars and gives a comprehensive appraisal. You get what you pay for. He spent at least 30 minutes looking at my car, then put a 5 page appraisal together.

Or you can send him about 10 photos along with all the RPO codes, and ALL MODIFICATIONS done to the car along with the Receipts.

I also have provided appraisals as well for insurance companies as well as private individuals when purchasing turbo regals.

Thanks Ian, I am working on your stuff right now. I wish these cars were worth that.

Its always good to get someone that knows the cars they are looking at. Doing it by mail is not a great idea as the man doing the work really needs to see what he is stating the value of and can cite recent sales of similar cars ( mileage, condition, options and location) as all these play a vital role in a cars value.

Hope this helps.
