Where to get electric vacuum pump

Does anyone know what year and make of car came with an electric air pump from the factory? The one I bought at a swap meet has finally died on me.

The mid 90's Camaros have them. See them used in junk yards for about $100.

I check one of those electric pumpd(off a caprice LT1) and a new pump only produced about 7" of vacuum. If you are going to use this for a evac type system it may not be strong enough. I heard a electric pump off a caddy produces alot more vacuum.

I am considering installing and electric vac also and wondered if a pump off a diesel would work better? Any thoughts ?
