Still trying to get a good answer on this. Where is the best place to locate a drain plug in a stock pan, on the bottom, side? I have not heard anything conclusive. Thanks

paul

here is an answer!!!!

On the side, just off bottom, rearward. Weld one half of a 1/4 pipe coupling in. Drill through the coupling. Put a 1/4 in. street ell in the coupling and a 1/4 in. pipe plug in the ell.

leeo, I bought a drain plug from Napa, can I still use this in the side as you indicated? Thanks for the input.

I just welded a 3/8 nut to the pan & used a copper washer on a flange bolt.

I guess it is a std drain plug kit, drill a 1/2" hole for a stud/teflon washer, with 2 nuts and a plug to go into one of the sealing nuts. Looks like it should work good just not sure where to put it.
