yep, I got a set on the way, too...but its a shame that others couldn't have the opportunity....unbelievable, before long we'll hafta pay to read the ads....

I think it would have been more appropriate to lock the thread. Not cool to delete it.

I'm assuming you are talking about Lower Control arms? Figures...................I already bought a set before seeing the GP. How much were they going for with the GP? Bought mine off eBay for $89 + 10 shipping.

29.99 for the lowers and the uppers, 10 dollars shipping and handling.

$29!? FOR TUBULAR LOWERS!? well, glad someone got a good deal, I "thought" that I had........

Lol, good one.

I was worried the thread disappeared because the vendor had just received enough of our money, and now he's on the move! I don't check the lounge, I did a search for "UMI" to find the group buy thread.

I have sent it to a"special place".:)

In the past, we have had "issues"with group purchases and this person is an unknown to us.

If he, or anyone wants to do a group purchase, they will only be allowed a link to their site or address if they first obtain permission from an administrator.

The board advertisers have a special section where they post periodic specials.

We do not want an unknown GP person or vendor doing this on the board as it appears TB.com has endorsed it. If problems arise, like usually happens in a GP, we do not want to be put in an embaressing position with our members.

Thanks for your understanding.:)

Well, I did speak with "God" as I do every day, and this issue is not something he had anything to do with. The supermods saw the ad and in accordance with board policy, it was deleted. This was done for several reasons, and money was the least of the considerations. The most important one is this person is not known by this board, nor was there an effort by this vendor to notify the board he was wishing to advertize here. We have had members taken advantage of by unknown vendors and don't want to sit back and wait to see if it happens again.

The paying vendors pay for this site and the return is they will hopefully earn your business. Their banner ads make it possible for all of us to have this site up, running and available to us at no cost. The wealth of information and good relationships built here far outweigh saving $5 or $10 dollars on a part already available.

That's all fine and well, but it would have been nice to have had an explanation before it disappeared.

And as far as being an unknown vendor, UMI said they were recommended to this site by Jason D. who runs CamaroZ28.com and used to run this site not too long ago. They are a sponsor there and they said maybe here to. But this might have changed their minds:rolleyes: I hope no one gets taken advanatge of on this gp either, but I do understand your position.

Because they were "recommended" to this site does not mean they can just advertise and do a GP. They are STILL an
unknown to us. An e-mail first from them to an administrator would have been appropiate.

If you do not understand our position after the posts Mark and I made, check with one our vendors and see if they can clear it up for you.

The other GP fiascos must have been before you were a member?
One of them is STILL not settled.:(

First of all I said in my last post that I understood the boards position. Second, I've been a member here for a very long time,( way back before the crash) virually since the beginning, don't let my low post count fool ya;) But i'm very aware of the GP you're meaning and yes I was in on the Mease downpipe fiasco and I too don't want to get burnt either. But I'm giving the guy the benifit of the doubt. He as a perfect feedback on Ebay with over 1000+ transactions and tons of positive things said about this company on other boards. I know that's not criteria to let somebody run a gp, and like I've said twice already I understand the boards position on this. All I asked in the original post was where did the tread go and why and it's been answered. Thank you.

Hello,

I hope you don't all mind if I chime in. First off I would like to apologize to all the mods for the thread. I sponsor other forums and I do know the rules, so I apologize.

The original thread was not posted by me, it was buy another member who explained to me about a GP and asked if I was interested. I said sure, if you can sell me that many sets then why not. I was sent the link and after reading how many responses he had I just had to reply, so I did when I shouldnt have. I do think the moderators were very nice about this and didn't make a big deal, thank you.

I have contacted the adminstrator about sponsoring this site, they have replied to me with prices and info. Well I am going to do it, I will take care of all the payment issues tomorrow. So I guess you could say I am a soon to be sponsor :D

Thanks again,
Ryan
