I'm a little confused as to what a "bar" is concerning a MAP sensor. Is it the number of ports?

What I'm planning on doing is:
1) Keep my stock,useless l.e.d. boost gauge.
2) Install an aftermarket, accurate boost gauge.
3) Be able to log boost with my PowerLogger.

What do I need to accomplish this?

Thanks!

3 bar is what most use with the alky kits, unless you want to try to go higher than 30 psi of boost... ;)

The guage has a built-in MAP sensor so the 3-bar sensor is only needed for Power Logger to log boost. They operate independently.

The stock MAP sensor is ONLY for the LED boost gauge, the digital dash versions had hobbs switches for the low/high boost lights. Just stick with a 2bar for now to make the stock LEDs work, Razor includes a 3 bar map sensor with the alky kit. BUT, then your boost LEDs won't read proper... You can either deal with not having them accurate (Honestly, how accurate are they anyways?), or buy a dash overlay from Mark that has markings on it calibrated for a 3 bar... Guess you could also wire in the 3 bar in addition to the 2 bar, leaving the 2 bar strickly for the dash LEDs and the 3 bar for the alky & Powerlogger.

If you want to log boost over 14.7 psi, you're going to need a 3 Bar. If you're running Razor's alky kit, and want to turn the boost up over 14.7 psi, you'll need a 3 Bar. So get a 3 Bar, and don't worry about your dash boost gauge. It's about as useful as the tach anyway.

Bar is just an abbreviation used for barometric pressure. 1 Bar=14.7 psi=1 Atmosphere of pressure.
